This Week at BCHMCPS
After winter came back with a fury last week, I hope everyone is back with heat power and that we can leave snowstorms behind us this year! Last week was a challenge for many of our families and staff as they struggled with lack of heat, light and cell phones to communicate. This Tuesday we welcome Spring and I hope that Mother Nature recognizes Spring's arrival with warmer weather.
Report cards (originally scheduled to go home Friday) will be sent home tomorrow. Report cards were delayed because of the two no-school days last week with many of our teachers unable to work on them because of the lack of power.
We held our 2018-2019 lottery on Thursday. There are waiting lists in Kindergarten and Grade 1. We are so pleased to welcome many, many siblings to BCHMCPS next year.
This Wednesday there is a PTO meeting at 3:45 in the gym- the PTO and BCHMCPS need your input and participation. We hope to see you on Wednesday.
The Special Education Parents Advisory Council (SEPAC) for Barnstable Public Schools holds its monthly meetings in different schools each month. This month BCHMCPS is happy to host the SEPAC meeting here on Thursday at 5:45. All are welcome.

Fun Events at BCHMCPS
What a great two days for fun family involvement at BCHMCPS yesterday and today and we have much more next week!
Last night we had a great turnout for the Spaghetti Dinner! So many families enjoyed the wonderful dinner either in the cafeteria or as take out.
Many thanks to all those who make this night happen- PTO, Grade 3 teachers, parent volunteers and an outstanding kitchen staff! A special thanks to BCHMCPS cafeteria manager Diane Eames and Mrs. Sue Dunn (who works in the HY West cafeteria and is the mother of Reading Specialist Kelly White) for volunteering their evening.
Today was the All School Meeting Cluster Celebration. This celebration is the culmination of six weeks of cluster work that would not be possible without the dedication of so many teachers, parents and community volunteers. The HYCC was alive with the sounds of music, dancing, award presentations and videos showcasing the work. Thank to all who made this possible, with a special thank you to Mrs. Panasci for organizing the event. Enjoy the pictures below of the Celebration.

The fun continues this weekend and into next week starting with the garden cleanup this Sunday March 11th from 11-1. The Garden Committee would like to invite anyone who is interested to please join them as they start to get the garden ready for Spring.
Tuesday morning from 9-9:30 is the March Principal Coffee. This month's coffee will be a review of safety and security protocols at BCHMCPS and the measures that we put in place to support keeping our students and school as safe as possible. This was the topic of October's Coffee and this timely topic is very worth a second discussion.
The 2018-2019 BCHMCPS lottery will take place next Thursday March 15th at 2 pm in the cafeteria. Please remind families and friends who are applying for BCHMCPS that registrations MUST be in by 12 pm on March 15th.
Make sure your calendar is marked for next Thursday March 15th. BCHMCPS is hosting Math/Literacy Night. This fun-filled family night from 6:00-7:15 will include fun activities, give-aways and raffle prizes.
Don't forget!

The roof work will begin again in a couple of weeks to complete the full job.
