Welcome back from February vacation. We have been greeted by some very un-winterlike  weather and have been enjoying the outdoor recess time. Fingers crossed that Spring is around the corner!

Reminder that 2017-2018 enrollment period is happening now. Applications for new students are due by 12:00 on March 15th. The lottery will take place at 2:00 on March 15th in the cafeteria. Siblings of current students must have a completed application and receive first spots in the lottery. If your family has a currently registered child at BCHMCPS and child that will be new to BCHMCPS next year, we MUST have the application by March 15th at 12:00 pm.

The second Open House will be held this Thursday, March 2nd from 5:30-7:30 pm. Please spread the word to family and friends who may be interested in BCHMCPS.

Before the vacation we did have winter weather that resulted in two snow days. With one of those days a Friday, clusters could not take place. As a result, the cluster celebration has been rescheduled to March 17th at 9:30 at the HYCC next door. Below is a note from Cluster Coordinator Carol Panasci:

Dear Families and Community Volunteers;

As you know, there was no school on Friday, 2/10 due to the snowstorm. As a result, the Enrichment Cluster schedule has been changed. Our last cluster session will be on 3/10 and the Cluster Celebration will be on 3/17.

Please note that the Celebration will be held at the Hyannis Youth And Community Center, across the parking lot from our school. It will start at 9:30; please arrive in a timely fashion.

Each Enrichment Cluster has a product or a presentation. Those Clusters supplying products will display their efforts on tables in the school corridor. This casual “Cluster Museum” will be on display before the Celebration. Please take the opportunity to visit the displays to see what remarkable things each Cluster has accomplished.

 The Celebration at the HYACC consists of performances, presentations and short films. It generally runs a bit more than an hour;  we try to keep it as brief as possible but the children are understandably proud of their work and everyone deserves the opportunity to share what they have learned.

 As always, thank you for your invaluable contribution to our school. Enrichment Clusters truly distinguish BCHMCPS and the help of the community volunteers is most appreciated.

Speaking of clusters,  below is a picture of the Police Academy cluster with Lieutenant Cabral and students helping out to monitor traffic speed on Bearse's Way!
