June is here and the countdown to the end of the 2016-2017 school year is on. Only fourteen school days in this busy month as we wind down a great school year! Some things to remember:
  • Our school nurse Mrs. Melley would like to remind everyone to please pick up your child's medications: inhalers, epi-pens or any other medications your child has in the health office. These medications cannot be stored over the summer and will be discarded after June 22nd. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Melley by stopping by the Health Office or calling her at 508-790-6495.
  • Our lost and found clothes bin is overflowing with coats, hats, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc. that have been lost over the school year. Please claim any items that may belong to your child.  All items left after June 22nd will be placed in the recycle bins in the front of the school.

The PTO would like to thank all of those who donated to last week's Walk-a-thon. This was not only a successful fundraiser but also promoted a healthy way for our students to start their day! Thank you!

The garden is coming along great and most of our students have visited with their classrooms over the past few weeks. Last week, though, we had another visitor to the garden- an Eastern Painted turtle! Parent garden volunteer Kelly Downing helped the turtle and delivered it to the pond after school that day. Many students got a chance to see it in the garden before it went back to the pond. Kelly states that she believes it may have been a female turtle that laid eggs in the sand in the church lot across the street. If this is so, she thinks the eggs will hatch between August 13-21st, so be on the look out for any baby turtles that may be crossing Bearses Road mid-August! Kelly posted pictures on the garden Facebook page (The garden at Bchmps) if you want a look. The url for the turtle video is below. Please make sure that you like the Facebook page for the garden and for the school!
