Summer Meals Available to Families

Summer is almost here and this weekend gave a nice preview of the beautiful weather to come. With summer comes a long vacation for children and families who may miss school and the meals that school provide. During the school year, we are privileged to feed our students both breakfast and lunch every. This past April, with the start of the universal free Breakfast in the Classroom Program, we were so happy to offer all students a free breakfast to start their day. This program continues when we start back in late August. In between the June 22 and the start of school, it may be a challenge for some families to pay the household bills and provide healthy meals. There are agencies in the area who offer free meals program to help support families.

If you  visit the Child Nutrition Outreach Program's website at www.meals4kids.org and use the "Find a Summer Meal" tab you can access all the places meals for children are available all summer, no registration or i.d. necessary. Below are the sites I found that are located within a half mile of BCHMCPS:
