New Blog Post- March 27

Lots of happenings this time of year! Along with the spring flowers blooming, so many events are in blooming around school.

We are getting reading for our Grade 3 students to take the ELA MCAS on April 9th and 10th . This is the first year, across the state, that Grade 3 students will take the MCAS online using Chromebooks. The students have practiced and they (and their teachers!) did a great job practicing. We will have Math MCAS on May 7th & 8th. Each of the two subject areas (ELA and Math) have two sessions. This state-wide assessment assists us in understanding our students' progress and helps us to identify areas that we as a school may need to focus on in the future. MCAS tests in no way determine student grades or promotion!

The Grade 3 Committee has been hard at work on the Grade 3 Celebration and creating a school yearbook. They need you help with the yearbook. There are two ways that you can help:
  • Use this link to upload any pictures of school events that you have that you would like considered for the yearbook. The link is https://uploads.picaboo.com/8325573
  • Secondly, if you or someone you know  owns a business, please consider donating an ad for the yearbook. This ad not only supports the school's yearbook production, but also promotes your business. Information for how to participate with an ad is below.

REMINDER!!!!! The BCHMCPS PTO is meeting tomorrow night, Thursday March 28th at 6:00 pm in the gym. The PTO invites all families to attend the meeting and asks that Grade 3 parents, in particular, also join them as they plan the Grade 3 Celebration.

Next Wednesday, April 3rd, is a 1/2 day early dismissal (12 pm) for all students. A reminder that on Tuesday, students may order a bagged lunch that they will take home on the 1/2 day. Please speak with your child/ren and decide whether they will order the lunch. Teachers will take orders on Tuesday and lunches will be delivered to the students on Wednesday morning.
There is NO afterschool day care on the 1/2 day Wednesday, April 3rd.
